The fonds contains files of correspondence, employee data, and labour agreements related to the Abitibi Power and Paper Company Inc.

The Benjamin and Mary Avery fonds contains textual records, photographs, maps and documentation mostly relating to Benjamin Avery’s accomplishments as a Forester and administrator. While some of the photographs depict his stay at Yale and his participation in sports, most are of meetings with administrators of different pulp and paper companies. The newspaper clippings and correspondence pay tribute and document his different roles and achievements in the sector of forestry.

Birth certificate, certificate of Naturalization, and US Army records with diaries documenting 5 years of Mr. Avery’s daily life offer insight into his private life.

The personal and public tributes after his death and the naming of the Benjamin F. Avery Physical Education building at Laurentian University are also well documented and outline his role and the recognition of his significant contribution to Forestry and the population of Northern Ontario.

The Benjamin Cowan fonds contains documents covering the life of Benjamin Cowan. Many of the documents are technical and engineering-related, and pertain to his education and some of the companies he invested in, while others cover his personal and family history.

The records relate to Addison's advocacy work on the development and management of Provincial Parks in Ontario. Includes work with the Save Quetico Committee, the Coalition for Wilderness, and Parks for Tomorrow. These three groups were often in direct correspondence with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, and the records contain many MNR and other government reports.

The C.B.C./C.B.Q. collection is composed of interviews and documentaries from several different radio series, both local, such as Radio Noon, and national, such as Ideas and Sunday Morning. All of the programs concern aspects of Northwestern Ontario life as encompassed by the broadcast area of C.B.Q. and were broadcast on C.B.Q. between 1974 and 1983. The collection is arranged according to the radio series or (if the series is unknown) the producer.

The Charles W. Cox fonds contains personal and business papers related largely to the bankruptcy of Charles Cox and Charles W. Cox Limited.

The collection contains nine digital photos acquired from Briand Plourde and 19 digital photos obtained from Claude and Louise Auclair, dating from 1943 to 1960. Most of the photos show the logging village’s installations, including the school and the cookery. Members of the Plourde and Auclair families also appear on several of them.

The collection includes textual, audiovisual and sound documents about the 1963 strike and the Reesor Siding shooting. Three of the series mainly contain reproductions of newspaper clippings as well as various textual documents. Documents pertaining to Paul Doucet’s play Le silence d’une tragédie can be found in one of the series. There also is a series containing the funeral cards of the three strikers who lost their lives during the shooting. The last series contains sound and audiovisual documents.

The collection includes digital photos of the town of Opasatika and the facilities at the Nassau Lake from 1950 to 1970. Much of the digital photos show activities related to forestry work and to the development of the two villages. Others depict family members and outdoor activities. Some pictures date from the later decades.

The collection includes six digital photos of the Canada Fowarding Company’s installations in Carey Lake and four digital classroom photos from École Sainte-Thérèse in Hearst, in 1951-1952.

The collection contains nine photos, showing the logging village’s installations and members of the Morneau family, from 1953 to 1961.

The Donald C. Clark fonds is arranged primarily by record type including minute books, correspondence, maps, certificates and financial papers. The records relate primarily to Donald C. Clark's business interests, and those of his father Donald A. Clark.

The fonds consists of records related to the company Benoît D'Amours Lumber founded by the donor, all of which were kept by the donator himself. The fonds consists of invoices, ledgers, mechanic manuals, legal documents, journals, and other.

The fonds contains photographic documents relating to the trial of the lumbermen accused of unlawful assembly following the shooting that took place at Reesor Siding, during the night of February 11, 1963. Located 55 kilometers west of Kapuskasing, Reesor Siding was a railroad siding, where pulpwood had been stalked. The wood had been cut and pilled by non-unionized woodsmen, settlers’ cutting permits licensees and members of the Coopérative forestière de Val Rita, a forestry cooperative. The lumbermen on strike were employees of the Spruce Falls Power and Paper Company in Kapuskasing and the Kimberly Clark Pulp and Paper in Longlac and were members of locals 2995 and 2693 of the Lumber and Sawmill Workers Union. They were going to Reesor Siding to bring down the pilled wood so that it wouldn’t get to the Spruce Falls paper mill in Kapuskasing. Upon the arrival of the strikers, members of the cooperative opened fire. Three strikers were killed, eight were wounded.

The fonds consists of moving images related to the donor’s family and acquaintances as well as the town of Hearst and Henry Selin Forest Products. These moving images are about weddings, christenings, hunting and fishing, Christmas celebrations with family, trips, and events such as a fire in Hearst, the strike at Henry Selin Forest Products in 1962, a parade in Hearst and others.

The fonds contains records of the businesses founded by Ernest Gosselin in northern Ontario. Most of the documents relate to the various properties that belonged to him in the Geraldton area.

The fonds contains textual documents related to the postal service during the Second World War and afterwards. More specifically, the documents are linked to the postal office in Mead, Ontario, a village located approximately 35 km from Hearst. In addition to some correspondence letters, the fonds contains guidelines on regulating the mail sent to or by the prisoners of war, who worked in labour camps in the region.
