Biographical history
Simone Camiré, is the second child of Stéphanie Pouliot and Arthur Lecours. She was born on July 30, 1921 in Sainte-Justine, Quebec. Her family moved to Hearst in 1927, where her father later founded the company now known as Lecours Lumber. In June 1943, she married Jules Camiré. Their eight children are: Agathe, François, Lise, Yvonne, Normand, Fernand, Guy and Ginette.
While devoting herself to the care of her family and of her home, Simone Camiré also undertook volunteer work in several organizations. At first, she was active in groups linked to the catholic parish Our Lady of the Assumption of Hearst. She later was an active member of organizations such as la Fédération des femmes canadiennes-françaises, le Club Soleil des Ainés (Club Action) and le Club Solo.

Scope and content
The fonds reflects the creator’s involvement in a variety of religious and community activities. The fonds consists of a few photographs, brochures, organizations’ minutes, correspondence, newspaper clippings and other.

The fonds was donated by Lise Camiré Laflamme, in 2013.

The archivist organized the records once acquired. Some items found in the aggregation of documents were not kept in the fonds.
