Biographical history
Leo Grzela was a history and geography teacher, as well as a guidance counselor at École secondaire catholique de Hearst for 30 years. During that time, he was also very active with the Hearst Minor Hockey Association as a coach, trainer or manager of Beginner, Novice, Atom, Peewee and Bantam divisions. He was also associated with the École secondaire catholique de Hearst boys’ and girls’ hockey teams and was among the instigators and organizers of the first Franco-filles hockey tournament, which took place in Hearst, in 1998.

The fonds contains documents relating to some Franco-Ontarian hockey tournaments for boys and girls. There is also information about the Midget hockey team Les Élans de Hearst. A few pictures can also be found in the fonds.
