Biographical history

Fitz-Henry Townshend Scudamore Powell was born in 1888 in England, but moved to Saskatchewan, Canada in 1907 to work on a farm. A year later he attended the Ontario Agricultural College, but later moved to Vancouver, British Columbia. In 1914 he became a lay reader, but when the First World War broke out he joined the Irish army. He died in World War One.

Custodial history

These records were in the custody of R.W. Jansen's sister before their transfer to the Guelph Public Library Archives.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of twelve postcards of Guelph. Included are postcards of Macdonald Hall, Machinery Hall, the C.P.R Depot, Park Avenue, and the Ontario Agricultural College where Fitz Henry attended classes.
