Edwin Stewart Turner (1886-1972) was a veteran of the first world war and an engineer who worked for the Welland Ship Canal Company in Ontario for many years.

Fonds consists of personal and professional records of Edwin Stuart Turner documenting his daily activities, his participation in World War I, and his work on various engineering projects, particularly the construction of the Welland Canal. Personal records include diaries from 1903-1964, autobiographical data, notes and published materials acquired by Turner during World War I, and school exercise books and other documents relating to his education. Fonds also contains records relating to Turner's professional activities, particularly as they related to the construction of the Welland Canal. Documents relating to the Welland Canal include notebooks recording progress on the canal, technical drawings, a history of its construction, correspondence, and various loose documents and clippings. Other projects include a tidal graving dock at St. John, New Brunswick, and a CPR Viaduct at Seguin Valley.
