Dorchester - Crumlin Pastoral Charge was formed ca. when Dorchester North Pastoral Charge, including Crumlin United Church, and Dorchester South, which included Dorchester and Baileys United Churches, amalgamated. It was a two point charge including Dorchester and Crumlin until Crumlin United Church disbanded in 2013. It then became a single-point charge.
Dorchester United Church, located at 4100 Catherine St in Dorchester, was formed in 1925, formerly Methodist and Presbyterian. The Dorchester Circuit of the Methodist Episcopal Church was formed in 1851 and it included Dorchester, Avon, Brownsville, Mount Vernon, Zion Church in North Dorchester). When the Methodist Church of Canada was formed, the Dorchester Circuit included Dorchester. Bailey's Church in West Nissouri, Mossley, Nilestown, Banner, Oliver's Church in North Oxford, and Crampton. Dorchester Methodist Church joined the United Church of Canada and with the Dorchester Presbyterian Church. The church building was damaged by fire in 1980. It is still an active congregation of the United Church of Canada.
Crumlin United Church, located at 20014 Nissouri Road in Crumlin was formed in 1925, formerly Presbyterian. The Presbyterian Church in North Dorchester (now known as Crumlin) was formed ca. 1848. A church building was built ca. 1854. In 1925, the congregation joined the United Church and formed a two-point charge with Baileys United Church, formerly Methodist. When Baileys United Church closed, Crumlin joined Dorchester to form a two point charge. The church disbanded on June 30, 2013.
