    In 1964 the Director General Intelligence (DGI) was responsible to the Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff (ACDS) for: advising on all aspects of intelligence policy; developing policies and plans for the management, operation, future development and wartime employment of the strategic resources of the Canadian Forces; producing intelligence on the current activities, likely courses of action of foreign armed forces as required by the Canadian Forces and the Canadian Government; and producing economic and geographic intelligence on foreign countries as required for departmental and inter-departmental purposes.

    Fonds consists of 2 issues of "MIRAD" (Monthly Intelligence Review and Digest) for April and May, 1965. The periodical provided intelligence to the Canadian Forces officers in the execution of their duty. Each issue consisted of two parts. Part I included brief topical intelligence items while Part II included collated articles on specific subjects. Includes intelligence on the Soviet Bloc, Communist China, North Korea, North Vietnam, India and Pakistan, Cyprus, Congo, Middle East, East Germany, West Germany and Israel.
