The son of Isaac and Jane (nee) Skelton, Daniel Giles was born in East Zorra Township on January 4, 1858. He married Emily Chamberlain on February 22, 1893 and on December 4th that same year, they welcomed their daughter Leola Bertha Giles. He sold the farm in 1916, and moved with his family to Woodstock, Ontario, where he resided on Huron Street, until his later years when he went to live with his daughter on Riddell Street.
