Also included are various photographic portraits of Clayton Ruby.

The collection consists of the Ontario Folklore Archives which includes student essays and cassettes of folklore in Canada. Subjects discussed in the student essays include folk medicine, folklore from regions in Ontario and Canada (Oshawa, Ontario, Feversham, Ontario, Newfoundland), from cultural groups (Jews, Ukrainians, French Canadians), musical folklore, social folklore (children's jokes, urban graffiti), and related topics. In addition, there are recordings on audio cassettes and audio reels of Scottish folk songs and customs, old-time fiddling, songs of the Scottish regiment and of other subjects.

Series consists of amateur and professional photographs taken and accumulated by Jean Augustine during her personal and professional life in Canada. This series documents Augustine's personal and family life in Grenada and Canada from the 1940s through to 2005, including her emigration to Canada, her social activities as a young woman in Toronto, her life as a young mother, social activist, teacher and student. Photographs also document her early involvement in the 1970s and 1980s in community movements, cultural events, social justice and political organizations, as well as her professional career as an elementary school teacher and principal in the Metropolitan Separate School Board, her activities as part of Premier David Peterson's 'transition team' in 1985 and her work as chair of the Metro Toronto Housing Authority. Events documented include the election campaign of American politician Jesse Jackson, the earliest celebrations of the Caribana parade in Toronto, women's rights events and protests, and local Black History Month celebrations. Photographs also document Augustine's activities as a federal politician, including her activities on Parliament Hill, her administration of federal committees and the Secretariats of Multiculturalism (later Multiculturalism and Status of Women), as well as her election campaigns (including door-to-door campaigning; fund raising; speeches; debates and promotion), and local activities (including celebrations at her constituency office; round table discussions and meetings with community organizations; annual Christmas parties; summer picnics; community celebrations; banquets; and Remembrance Day ceremonies). Photographs also document Augustine's extensive travel overseas in the Caribbean, the United States, South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Asia, Central Asia and the Far East, both in her official capacity as a politician and cabinet member, and as a tourist and traveller.

London Township History Book Fonds

The fonds contains resources used and created in the compilation of The London Township History Book. The two-volume book details the history of London, Ontario and its surrounding areas, detailing multiple elements such as geography, industry, and community. The fonds contains thirty two series; series 1-9 relate to the administration of the book project proper; series 10-25 relate to the chapters of VOlume 1 of the London Township History Book (one series per chapter).

Entertainment Department fonds

The Entertainment Department fonds, RG 10, is arranged and described at the series level, with an accompanying file list. The fonds consists of a single series: Subject Files (RG 10-0-1).

Textual records in the fonds consist of correspondence, reports, contracts, schedules, minutes, charts and policies related to the Entertainment Department staff, musicians, performers and other entertainers, competition contestants, and CNE visitors. Graphic and printed materials include photographs of dancers, parades and parade floats, costumed characters, music and dance competitions, and other events coordinated by the Entertainment Department, as well as pamphlets and brochures.

Few documents exist for the years 1952-1980 (for further records from this time period, see RG 10-2, Music Department fonds). No records exist for the year 1984. When the CNE became independent in 2013, they retained their administrative and operational records from that year. Those records, and any new records created after that date, are the property of the CNE and are stored in the CNE offices or the CNE Archives. As a result, only one further accrual is expected for RG 10 for the records created between 2000 and 2012, which still fall under the retention schedule as of 2018.

The collection contains sheet music of some classical music, but consists mostly of popular tunes arranged for piano. Included are parlour pieces from the gay ‘90's; favourites from the Edwardian period; songs of the First World War; hits from the early days of recorded music; and music made popular by performers of early days of radio (1920's and 1930's). Peter S. Schmalz fonds

This fonds reflects Dr. Peter S. Schmalz’s career as an educator, researcher and author from the late 1960s to early 2000s. He used these resources in the creation of a Master's Thesis, a Doctoral Thesis, numerous learned articles, several books, and reports for the Ministry of Natural Resources, First Nations communities, the provincial government and federal government. The focus of his research and writing concerned First Nations as well as Town of Walkerton history.

This fonds includes over 700 published books (not including duplicates) which reflect Dr. Schmalz's primary interest in aboriginal contact with Europeans.

The fonds also consists of documents related to the history of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation Territory (Saugeen First Nation and Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation) which reflect the communications and relationship between the First Nations and the Imperial and Canadian governments. These documents consist of photocopied records, many of which were copied from microfilm held by the National Archives of Canada, including material from NAC's reference number RG 10 (parts of the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development fonds). Records also include microform, brochures, audiotapes and videotapes, newspapers and clippings, magazines and research cards.

Material in the fonds also reflects the history and experience of First Nations across North America.

The material further reflects Dr. Schmalz’s leadership in education, particularly as it relates to both the education of First Nation students and the education of others about the history of First Nations. Records relate to a co-operative education project, field archaeology and native studies summer course, as well as curriculum created by Peter Schmalz and other education resources.

Dr. Schmalz’s work, activities and interests are also reflected through his correspondence, publications, theses, and essays.

Finally, the fonds consists of articles, maps and original records reflecting Dr. Schmalz’s interest and research concerning the history of the Town of Walkerton and other regional history resources.

Textual records in the fonds consist of correspondence, reports, schedules, minutes, and publicity material related to the Music Department and Grandstand show staff, musicians, performers and other entertainers, competition contestants, and CNE visitors. Graphic and printed materials include photographs of dancers, performer headshots, and other events coordinated by the Music Department, as well as sheet music from the 1953 Grandstand show.

Few documents exist for the years 1960, 1962, 1973, and 1981. No records exist for the years 1954 to 1956, 1959, and 1963 to 1972.

Fonds consists of records created and collected by Agnes Effie Sands Mern and other members of the Wawanosh family. Included are records relating to the life and work of various family members. In particular, the fonds contains records relating to the work of Joshua, David and William as chiefs of the Chippewas of Sarnia. Also included are the personal records of the family including correspondence, financial records, memorandum and account books and personal records relating to births, marriages and deaths. The records of most of the family members are intermingled, possibly a reflection of how Agnes Sands Mern kept them. Also included are the records of Agnes Effie Sands Mern (which make up the majority of the fonds) including her correspondence, financial records (including the records of the Wawanosh Post convenience store), records relating to her musical and artistic interest and records relating to her work in the Church and her activities organizing cultural events and concerts. Also included are the records of Agnes' husband John Phillips Mern such as his correspondence, financial records, notebooks and personal records relating to his son John P. Mern Jr.
Fonds also contains several sketches of members of the Wawanosh family as well as a large assortment of photographs. Photographs include portraits of family members, ministers and missionaries, friends and others as well as images depicting the daily life and travels of Agnes and John P. Mern. Photographs of John P. Mern consist of several albums documenting his time in the US navy and the childhood of his son. Several photographic processes are represented including tintypes, cartes de visite, cabinet cards, postcards and prints.

Fonds consists of records documenting the personal, professional and communal activities of Phil Givens. The bulk of the material is graphic and most of the photographs relate to his tenure as Mayor of Toronto and to his Jewish communal work. The records also include general correspondence, speeches, campaign material, scrapbooks, cartoons, certificates and awards, biographical writings, audio and visual materials and artifacts. The records have been arranged into nine series representing Givens’ various roles and activities and have been described to the file level and item level when necessary. These series are: 1. Fonds consists of Lindstrom's professorial and scholarly research files throughout her career, as well as records documenting her academic activities. Research files pertain to her publications and monographs such as "Defiant Sisters : A Social History of Finnish Immigrant Women in Canada, 1890-1930" (both the English and Finnish editions), and "From Heroes to Enemies : Finns in Canada, 1937-1947," as well as book chapters, articles, papers, presentations and lectures, and her involvement with the National Film Board production "Letters from Karelia," and subsequent research. The research files span the activities of Finnish and Finnish-Canadian organizations across the political spectrum, such as the Finnish Organization of Canada (left wing), and Loyal Finns in Canada (right wing). Records include oral history interviews (audio cassettes and transcripts), research notes, clippings, a significant and extensive number of photograph and letter collections passed down through generations of Finnish Canadians, diaries, correspondence, publication drafts, academic and professorial notes, microfilm of Finnish language newspapers published in Canada and archival records, financial records of Finnish-Canadian organizations such as newspapers and post-World War II relief funding bodies, scrapbooks, photocopies of rare and unusual documents such as two volumes of a Soviet register of Finnish War Crimes, a list of persons found in the mass grave at Karhumaki, and Soviet lists of North American Finns who journeyed to Karelia to help build a socialist utopia there, academic and professorial files, publicity files, files pertaining to her work with the School of Women's Studies, and her own papers as a university student. The fonds also includes letters written by Lindstrom as a newly-arrived teenaged immigrant to Canada to her best friend in Finland; many of these letters were published in Finnish with English translation in 'Letters from an immigrant teenager' in 2012.

Fonds consists of material that documents his career as a writer and broadcaster and, as such, includes correspondence with publishers, fan mail, research material, newspaper clippings, reviews of his work, notes, drafts and galleys related to his novels and works of non-fiction. The writing files include photocopies of his own letters written to his mother when he was an internee in England and manuscript and photocopies of letters written to Koch from Daria Hambourg and used as research material for his novel, "The Brothers Hambourg". Fonds also includes transcripts of interviews as well as written reminiscences in the form of letters from many former German internees; these letters were subsequently used as resource material for his book "Deemed Suspect: A Wartime Blunder". Fonds includes a complete set of published copies of his books. The broadcasting files contain correspondence, memos, notes and drafts of scripts, scrapbooks and other material that documents his long career with the CBC.
