          Fonds consists of newspapers, photographs, financials, and personal documents relating to the professional and private lives of Carl Mantz, including his wife Elizabeth Gibson. Included in the fonds are records pertaining to the purchase and maintenance of the Whitby Weekly News building, correspondence and letters regarding his enlistment in the RCAF, programs and background information for the Ten Centuries concerts, and the meeting minutes for his initiatives concerning Whitby senior citizens. Of particular interest are the newspaper photographs which represent various events, people, and places of Whitby in the 1950s and 1960s. The fonds is composed of the following series: Elizabeth G. Gibson records, 1969; Personal records, 1931-1980; Community Involvement records, 1962-1975; Financial records, 1938-1971; Clippings; and Photograph 1950s-1960s.

          Fonds consist of three Tweedsmuir scrapbooks compiled by the Carmel Women's Institute and nine volumes of minute books.

          The scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings, photographs, and reports of local history and the Carmel Women's Institute. Subjects covered within the scrapbooks are World War II, excursions of the group, local businesses and news about the community.

          The minute books cover the years 1949-2001 and include accounting information for the Institute. Some have lists of meetings, attendance registers and lists of members.

          The Catharine Dixon fonds consists mainly of handwritten notes, newspaper clippings, reports and minutes. The documentation files cover different aspects of the history of Elliot Lake. Among the subjects are the economic activities, the demography, and the politics of Elliot Lake. The files were created by Catharine Dixon while researching for her book The Power and the Promise: the Elliot Lake story.

          This fonds consists of minute books and financial records created by the Colpoy's Bay Ladies' Aid Society, affiliated with the Colpoy's Bay United Church.

          In particular, it consists of 12 volumes of minute books, with membership lists, spanning the periods: 1905-1910, 1916-1918, 1918-1922, 1920-1932, 1922-1923, 1924-1926, 1926-1928, 1932-1938, 1938-1943; 1943-1948, and 1948-1957. Minutes from 1912-191- are included in the back of the Minute Book of the Junior Epworth League of Colpoy's Bay.

          The financial records consist of: a Ledger, 1932-1972, and the Ladies' Aid Parsonage Account Book, 1967-1969.

          The fonds consists of annual reports of the Consumers' Gas Company (1849-1925) [incomplete], minutes of the Board of Directors' meetings (1947-1925), minutes of special Board meetings, taken from the secretary's and president's notes and agendas; minutes of the Finance Committee (1852-1874), of the Works Committee (1853-1873), and of selected meetings of the Executive Committee (1805-1909). As well, there is a run of 'Street lamps' [publication] (1887-1906).

During this time Peter Schulz of the Port Hope Guide wished to reprint the book. Correspondence concerns the reprinting, receiving permission for reprinting and photograph sources.

          The fonds consist of records related to the history of the Crawford family. They are arranged into the following series and subseries:
          Series 1: Diaries
          Subseries A: Benjamin Benedict Crawford (1800, 1810-1859)

          • This Series consists primarily of diaries of Benjamin B. Crawford. These include a diary of a trip to Upper Canada in 1800, as well as yearly diaries from 1810 to 1859. Diary entries relate to; the weather; farm activities; social events in the community; births, marriages and deaths of his family and his neighbours; experiments with crops and prices of supplies and produce; Kings County court sessions; the Rebellion of 1837; elections; and services in the Anglican church in the Ingersoll area. Daniel Nathan Crawford, the eleventh child of Benjamin Benedict Crawford, continued his father’s diary during the latter’s final illness, and after his death for the remainder of 1859.
          • This subseries also includes transcripts of a majority of the diaries, made by Blanche Crawford, in 1938.

          Subseries B: James Augustus Crawford (1865-1882)

          • The diaries of James Augustus Crawford, a son of Benjamin Benedict Crawford, note farm duties, and family and community activities.

          Subseries C: Leeman Wallace Crawford (1877)

          • The diary of Leeman Wallace Crawford (son of James Augustus Crawford, and a carriage- maker at London), contain entries describing his work, with some references to politics, and family and community affairs.

          Subseries D: Charles W.A. Crawford (1848-1875)

          • The diaries of Charles W.A. Crawford contain description of his daily work, including purchases, sales, and debts related to his farming businesses. These diaries have been transcribed by a member of the Crawford family.

          Subseries E: Eliza Georgina Crawford Nichols (1930-1945)

          • The diaries of Eliza Georgina Crawford continue daily musings of people and events.

          Series 2: Correspondence [18-- ] – [1995] (not inclusive)

          • Includes correspondence of various members of the Crawford family concerning personal and family matters. Letters also include correspondence to/from Ruth (nee Crawford) Ellis regarding family genealogy.

          Series 3: Writings of Christopher Colin Crawford (ca. 1880s)

          Series 4: Genealogy ([18-- ] – 2007)

          • A very complete and detailed genealogy of the generations of the Crawford family in North America beginning with John and Jane Henderson Crawford, whom arrived in Connecticut, United States from Ireland. It contains dates and places of birth, marriages and deaths; details on families into which Crawfords married; and often a description of the individuals the early genealogy was prepared in 1927 by Mrs. Olive Arnold Crawford of Ingersoll, Ontario, with the assistance of certain relatives, while the later and more complete family history was completed by Ruth Ellis.
          • Includes research papers and notes, newspaper clippings, and photographs, as well as a copy of “The Crawford Family” by Ruth Ellis.

          Series 5: Almanacs (1761, 1814-1853)

          • Contains New Brunswick, New England, Maine, Canada West Farmer’s Almanacs, and several Medical Almanacs. These are arranged alphabetically according to the locality for which they were calculated. Occasionally, a diary was bound into an Almanac, and these volumes have been stored with the diaries.
