          L’article est un album de coupures contenant des documents et des rubans d’identification du premier congrès canadien de la télévision (First Canadian Television Clinic), présenté par l’Académie des arts radiophoniques (Academy of Radio Arts). Les documents dans l’album comprennent une brochure du congrès, une lettre d’invitation ouverte, un programme ainsi que des notices biographiques des orateurs. Les trois rubans d’identification ont servi d’insigne pour distinguer les membres du personnel, les délégués et les membres de la presse.

          Le fonds contient des dossiers techniques et opérationnels en lien avec la gestion de la station de réception de Yamachiche, au Québec, de 1913 à 1973, par la compagnie Canadian Marconi et la Société canadienne des télécommunications transmarines (SCTT). On y trouve : de la correspondance (1925-1931); quelques dossiers opérationnels; des dossiers techniques à propos des récepteurs radio sans fil utilisés à la station, ainsi que des bleus et schémas de récepteurs (1934-1952); des manuels et instructions visant les récepteurs fabriqués par la Marconi’s Wireless Telegraph Co., la Canadian Marconi Co., Hasler Ltd., Northern Electric Co., Philips Telecommunications, etc. (1942-1964); des dossiers opérationnels de la SCTT, y compris des notes de service, des procédures et plusieurs types de rapports techniques hebdomadaires et mensuels (1955-1971); une sélection de registres de communications télégraphiques et téléphoniques ainsi que des graphiques de réseaux sans fil vers de grandes villes en Europe, en Asie et en Amérique du Sud (1963-1973); et enfin, des documents commerciaux et des catalogues de produits du groupe Marconi et d’autres fabricants (1927-1963).

          Le fonds se compose du curriculum vitæ de Parkhill ainsi que des exemplaires de ses articles et textes de conférence sur l’informatique, le Télidon et le vidéotex, de 1978 à 1985. On y trouve aussi ses dossiers sur l’informatique de l’époque où il était sous-ministre adjoint (recherche), au ministère des Communications du gouvernement du Canada, de 1974 jusqu’à sa retraite, en 1984. Les dossiers comprennent des rapports publiés et non publiés. Le fonds contient également de la correspondance et ses entretiens (enregistrés sur cassettes audio) avec des chefs de file des domaines du vidéotex et du télétexte en Europe, en Amérique du Nord et en Extrême-Orient pour la rédaction de son ouvrage The Beginning of a Beginning. De nombreux documents portent sur l’informatique : correspondance, articles, rapports publiés et non publiés, et études sur le vidéotex, le télétexte et le Télidon (1972 à 1988). Le fonds comprend en outre des dossiers par matières sur l’informatisation et sur les systèmes de communications de bureau, ainsi que quelques photographies de Parkhill à la retraite ou recevant des prix.

          Series consists of photograhs depicting the people and places of early Vaughan as well as the post offices throughout Vaughan Township (Norberta wrote a book Chatting About the Post Offices of Vaughan Township, Ontario, published 1983), Norberta was also a long-time journalist with the Woodbridge and Vaughan News and thus some of the photos she used in her articles can also be found in this series.
