    Biographical history

Lorraine Fauchon, born Marceau, started to work at Notre-Dame Hospital in Hearst in September 1959. While working night shifts, she, and her sisters Armandine and Suzanne, took the nursing assistant course, offered by the hospital. In May 1961, the three sisters obtained their pratical nurse certificate (PN). Armandine then worked in the medical department, while Lorraine was in the pediatrics and maternity wards, and Suzanne in maternity. In July 1961, Lorraine married Marcel Fauchon and left her job at the hospital to devote herself to her family. In 1976, after obtaining a nursing assistant degree from Northern College, she went back to work at the hospital.
