The French-language weekly Les Nouvelles de Timmins was founded in Timmins, in 1996. For a time, the newspaper was called Les Nouvelles de Timmins et les environs and was later known as Les Nouvelles. In 2002, it was combined with the Daily Press, of Timmins. The weekly disappeared in 2011.
