Administrative history

L’Élan was a magazine published in Hearst from June 30, 1987 to December 1989. André Bolduc was the founder and owner of this weekly subtitled "une revue communautaire (a community magazine)". In most of the issues, there was an article introducing a well known citizen of the community. Olive Côté, Vic Granholm, André Lanthier, Pierre Leroux, Guy Lizotte, Pierrette Mercier, Évariste Proulx, André Rhéaume, Carmen Trudel and Hélène Vachon were among those who made the front page of L’Élan. The economic, social, political and artistic life of the community was discussed in the magazine. It also contained an important sport section. Usually of 24 to 28 pages, some of the issues had up to 44 pages, while others had a second section. In November 1988, a special issue was dedicated to olympic champion, Stéphane Lecours.
At its peak, L’Élan had a circulation of approximately 2,000 copies.

In October 1989, when André Bolduc took a new employment, L’Élan became a monthly publication. The last issue was published in December 1989.
