Biographical history

Kelly Dulcie Garnett was born on November 9th 1959 in Edmonton, Alberta. Her father, Richard Frederick "Dick" Garnett, was, at the time, an employee of the Hudson's Bay Company since 1941. In 1960, he became manager of the Hudson's Bay Company’s Hearst store, a position that he occupied until 1978. In 1961, the Garnett family moved to Hearst. Kelly Garnett lived there until she graduated from high school at the age of 16. She then moved to Edson, Alberta. Kelly Garnett now resides in Manitoba.

The photos in this collection were primarily taken by Kelly's brother, Dinty Thomas Garnett, born March 23rd 1951 in Edmonton. As a part-time photographer, Dinty Thomas Garnett used a bathroom in the family home as a darkroom.
