La Boîte à Lettres is an organization providing basic training services in French to adults living in Hearst and the surrounding area. The organization’s objectives is to enable them to improve their knowledge of the French language, mathematics and computer science. With the help of Le Conseil des Arts de Hearst and l’ACFO régionale du Grand Nord, Pierrette Mercier, Françoise Groleau, Luc Morneau, Lauré Girard and Lucie Paquin founded La Boîte à Lettres, in 1987. La Boîte à Lettres first shared premises with Le Conseil des Arts de Hearst. Incorporated in 1989, the organization still offers a variety of educational services in Hearst and the surrounding area.
