    Biographical history

    Claire Hoy (1940- ) is a political correspondent and newspaper columnist in Toronto and Ottawa, Ontario.

    He was born in Brockville, Ontario in 1940. After studying political science and journalism at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute from 1961-1964, Hoy has covered political events for a number of newspapers, including the Toronto Telegram and Toronto Star. As well, Hoy was the Toronto Sun's Queen's Park columnist from 1975-1984. He has since become the Toronto Sun's Ottawa political correspondent.

    Scope and content

    Collection consists of audiocassette recordings of interviews conducted in 1985 by Hoy in preparation for his biography of former Ontario Premier William G. Davis, published in 1985. The interviews are with 55 of Davis' political acquaintances, family members and friends, including Norman Atkins, Pat Dumas, Roy McMurtry, Hugh Segal, and Larry Grossman.
