History
The Finance Committee was a standing committee of the City of Guelph Council and was established in 1852. Its mandate was to oversee the City's financial management and taxation functions. The Finance Committee reported to City Council and the Mayor of Guelph. It was composed of city councillors and a chairperson elected among them. Between 1874 and 1879, the committee was also known as the Finance and Assessment Committee.
