    Biographical history

    Charles Levi Trevelyan (1896-1981) and was an early Toronto entrepreneur and amateur photographer.

    Trevelyan was born in Penetang, Ontario in 1896. In 1923 Trevelyan bought into a leather- goods store, eventually taking it over and re- naming it the Trevelyan Company. In 1936 he married Eliza Lake, and they had three children, Joyce, Charlotte and Charles.

    Fonds consists of home movie footage photographed by Charles Trevelyan. Fonds includes footage of the Trevelyan family fishing, swimming and boating at their cottage at Willow Beach on Lake Simcoe. Also included is footage depicting an early Shriners' parade, as well as city street scenes from Toronto, Beamsville and Thornbury, Ontario, as well as family activities at these locales.
