Institutionele geschiedenis
As early as the 1920s the PAOC provided home study or correspondence courses for adults interested in studying the Bible and theology. Affiliated with the Canadian Pentecostal Bible College in Winnipeg, early courses included "Practical Methods for Christian Workers". By 1963 home study courses were run out of Eastern Pentecostal Bible College with Dr. C.A. Ratz as Director. Courses included the Living Word course, Minister's course, and Christian worker's course. Upon the resignation of Dr. Ratz in 1978, Paul Hawkes, a faculty member at Central Pentecostal College in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan assumed the leadership of the Canadian Pentecostal Correspondence College (CPCC). In 1985 Dr. Leslie T. Holdcroft, President of Western Pentecostal Bible College in Clayburn, B.C., was appointed Director of CPCC. Dr. Holdcroft resigned in 1990 and was replaced by Roger Stronstad of Western Pentecostal Bible College. Although the directors of the CPCC were members of Bible colleges, either as faculty or administrators, the CPCC was separate from those colleges. In 1990 a General Conference resolution made it necessary that the CPCC program be made available in the French language. The College Biblique Quebec in Quebec City was appointed as the French administrative division of the CPCC. In 1992 it was decided that CPCC would provide correspondence course for lay training only. Ministerial training by correspondence would be available through the International Correspondence Institute (ICI, a college-level program developed by the American Assemblies of God which has since become Global University). This decision was based on the fact that the CPCC program did not meet the educational standard of the Bible Colleges.
