The ArQuives: Canada's LGBTQ2+ Archives
The ArQuives (formerly the Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives) is the largest independent LGBTQ2+ archives in the world. With a focus on Canadian content, The ArQuives acquires, preserves and provides public access to information and archival materials in any medium.
By collecting and caring for important historical records, personal papers, unpublished documents, publications, audio-visual material, works of art, photographs, posters, and other artifacts, The ArQuives is a trusted guardian of LGBTQ2+ histories now and for generations to come.
Mission Statement: The ArQuives aspires to be a significant resource and catalyst for those who strive for a future world where lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans people are accepted, valued, and celebrated.
The ArQuives regrets that at this time the basement and third floor levels are not wheelchair accessible. The ground and second floors are accessible via a ramp and lift.
All questions and inquiries should be directed to queeries@arquives.ca.
