    Administrative history

A meeting of the parents of the Atwood Boys and Girls Band was held in Atwood Public School on Jan. 11, 1956 for the purpose of forming a Band Committee. Fred Long was appointed Chairman and Marie Liebrock was Secretary- Treasurer. The band committee organized various band engagements, annual Band Tattoos and held fund-raising concerts. The committee hired the band leader and provided uniforms for the band members. In 1964 baton lessons were offered in conjunction with band practice. The Atwood Community Band disbanded in 1970.

    Custodial history

The records of the Atwood Community Band were generally in the possession of the secretary of the Band until they were donated to the former Elma Township municipal office and subsequently transferred to the Stratford-Perth Archives. A note with the records states 'Received from Beryl Currie brought in April 22, 1975.' Beryl Currie was Secretary-Treasurer of the Atwood Community Band in 1970.
