The Association of Professors of the University of Ottawa (A.P.U.O.) is established in 1956 as a voluntary association representing the professional interests of the teaching staff of the University. The University recognises the Association as the official representative for the professors in 1972. The Association is accredited as a union in 1975, the same year that it negotiates the first collective agreement with the University.
Scope and content
The fonds contain files which documents the functions of the Association of Professors (APUO). It includes minutes (1965-1967, 1970-1977), constitution (1964-1982), annual reports , an annual report of the Teaching Staff Committee (1970), a report of the president (1973-1974), the collective agreements (1976-1990), the APUO Bulletin (1969-2008) and guide for professors (1961-1967). The fonds also contain memorandums (1968-1999), grievant files and correspondence.
