- Note
- The pieces are produced by various English potteries, including Shelley Potteries; Soho Pottery Co.; Empire England; Lancaster & Sandland Ltd.; Aynsley China; Wood and Sons; Chapmans Longton Ltd.; Coalport Porcelain Works; Alfred Meakin Ltd.; and Johnson Brothers. These manufacturers all operated in "The Potteries" of Stoke-on-the-Trent, Staffordshire. The region became a center for ceramic production in the 17th century due to regional resources like clay and coal, and accessibility to the Trent and Mersey Canal which allowed for further import of materials.
