Armour Heights Presbyterian Church began with services in Armour Heights Public School in 1948 and the congregation was formally established in 1950. Property was acquired on Wilson Avenue and the church building was completed in 1952. The Rev. W. Scott Duncan was inducted as the congregation's first minister in 1954, serving until 1976. In 1953 Armour Heights became a self-sustaining congregation. In 1962 a two-story addition was added to the church for the Sunday School and gymnasium and another two-story addition in 1995 enlarged the narthex area and provided additional space for the Sunday School. In 1999 the congregation acquired an adjacent property for use as a future manse.
