Anne Heideman was best known as the first Director of the Peterborough Centennial Museum and Archives.

Terry Hawkins grew up in Peterborough, and in 1948 was living at 492 Bonaccord Street with his parents, John H. and Jean Hawkins, and his brother Trevor. John Hawkins was a floor finisher who had his shop at this location, as well. By the 1950s, the family was living at the north end of George Street (781) and his father owned Peterborough Sales and Rentals, at 24 Barnardo Avenue. Terry Hawkins was a teacher for many years, and was the author of two books on collecting milk bottles and related ephemera.

Fred Gariepy (1946- ) is a practising lawyer with Gariepy Murphy, 195 Sherbrooke Street, Peterborough. A graduate of Trent University, he has practised in Peterborough since 1974. His father, Alfred Richard Gariepy (1911-1991) was the founder of the Peterborough Tool and Machine Co. Ltd and ran it for 37 years.

The Edmison family included several generations of Presbyterian clergy and lawyers, interconnected with the Fitzgerald and the Vercoe families. The Rev J. H. Edmison (1857-1928) was a minister, notably at Cheltenham Presbyterian Church. J. Alex Edmison was a student at Jarvis Collegiate, Queen’s University and a camper at Camp Ahmek. He was a lawyer, an alderman in Montreal 1938-40, a university official at McGill, Queen’s; director of National Parole Board, and professor of criminology at the University of Ottawa. He served on boards of directors at various institutions including the Broadview YMCA, Taylor Statten Memorial Fund, National Parole Fund, and Trent University. He was a member of the Order of Canada. He married Alice Vercoe, a librarian and bibliophile, and they had three children. He was editor of Through the Years in Douro, and was a frequent writer for speeches and pamphlets on criminology, public speaking and fund-raising, and a major organizer of reunion events related to the Taylor Statten camps, Lakefield College and Queen’s University. He had strong research interests in local and family history.

David Evans Eason (1869-1930), son of George Eason & Jane Chamberlain of Otonabee Township, brother of Frederick A. Eason, Reeve of the Township of Otonabee, married Clarice Theodora McClennan on 6 Sept 1920. He was educated at Keene Public School, Norwood HS and taught public school 3 years at Mathers Corners. He then attended the School of Practical Science (Toronto University) from 1898-1902, receiving a B.Sc. with honours.

He worked with the Trent Canal during the summers while at University and was hired full-time after graduation in Jan 1902. He was promoted to Superintending Engineer of the Trent Canal on 1 Jan 1919 until his death on 23 Jun 1930.

His hobby was photography, taking many photos along the Indian River and the Trent Canal system during his lifetime.
