Clair Chambers was born in Regina, Saskatchewan in 1912. He first began his carrier in radio as an announcer and sales representative at CJRM Regina in 1935. In 1936, he moved to CJRC in Winnipeg, Manitoba to work as an announcer and in 1939 he continued as an announcer in Sudbury, Ontario at CKSO. In 1940, Chambers worked for CKCW in Moncton, New Brunswick and in 1943, he returned to Sudbury as the manager of CKSO. In 1944, Chambers served as manager in Kirkland Lake at CJKI and in 1946 became the sales manager at the Northern Broadcasting Company in Toronto, Ontario.
