No. 441 (Silver Fox) Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force was an active fighter unit from April 1942 to August 1945. The Squadron was originally designated as No. 125, and was formed in Sydney, Nova Scotia. It was renumbered No. 441 Fighter Squadron when it transferred overseas to RAF Station Digby, Lincolnshire, England, on 8 February 1944. It was posted to airfields in England, France, and Belgium throughout the Second World War, flying the Supermarine Spitfire. When the squadron returned to England it was disbanded on 7 August 1945.

Scope and content
Fonds consists of 11 volumes of Squadron records during 1944 to 1945. Volumes 1-2 include operational reports (opreps) consisting of daily reports from 441 Squadron to various headquarters, including the Royal Air Force (RAF), Allied Expeditionary Air Force, and 144 Airfield. Also includes volumes regarding flight logs, honours and awards, flying accidents, casualties, the Squadron unit badge and monthly training and flying returns. Volume 4 includes the returns of the pilots’ flying times and is classified.
