Lillian Ruel was a stenographer and hairdresser. Due to a childhood illness, she lost her hearing but it had started to improve within the last year before the contest.
General note
Fourteen contestants entered in the bathing suit contest. The event was sponsored by the Sudbury Rotary Club. The judges determining the winner were Chief Judge Dr. R.V. Chappie and Assistant Judges L.W. Ashcroft and J.S. Jones.

The first place prize was a $100 Victory Bond, the Rotary 'Miss Sudbury' ribbon and a bouquet of roses.
