One image of four members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) leading a parade into Queen's Athletic Field in Sudbury, Ontario. The Highland Pipe Band, commanded by Pipe Major William Livingston, and the Canadian Army can also be seen behind the Mounties, along with representatives from fraternal, political and war-working organizations, gathering to take the Patriotic Commando Dagger Pledge in support of the third Victory Loan campaign during World War II (WWII).

The Patriotic Commando Dagger Pledge was a promise to share in the responsibilities and obligations present when the country was in a state of war. One of the lines in the pledge was, "I accept this war as my personal war requiring strenuous self-denial."
