Glen E. Miller joined the Royal Canadian Navy in January 1940 and on May 27, 1941 witnessed the battle which lead to the sinking of the German battleship "Bismarck."
General note
Glen Miller was first stationed on HMCS Sudbury, where he spent nine months, and was then transferred to the British battleship, Ramielies. Miller was home on furlough to visit his wife, Vera Miller (née Vera McComb) and their three year old son, Allan.
