        General note

The snow was removed from Lake Ramsey "to allow it to freeze thicker in the earlier part of the [ice harvesting] season." The ice was later harvested, when it was thick enough to cut, and stored in "big ice houses along the lakefront... [Ice was] supplied to many outside centres by a Sudbury Firm." The annual ice harvesting season normally ended sometime in March.

        General note

The Sudbury Star often spelt Lake Ramsey, or Ramsey Lake, as Lake Ramsay during the 1940's.

        General note

See "Sudbury Ice Harvesting Concludes," Sudbury Star, March 12, 1914, p. 6.
