General note
Harness Racing was very popular in Sudbury during the early 1920's and experienced a comeback in 1936. In 1937, the Nickel City Driving Club's new lease with the City of Sudbury marked the next stage of the sport's revival. The first harness race at the new track, located off of Garson Road, took place on July 7, 1937.
