Almost 1,000 Sudburians went to the Drumhead Service to honour the district's 4,000 war dead.
Reverend Bruce of the Copper Cliff Anglican Church stated at the service, "No one is worthy of the name citizens [sic] who was not out to either the cenotaph service or the drumhead service."
