The United Church of Canada Archives in Toronto is made up of the General Council Archives, the highest legislative court and national organizing body of United Church, as well as the Ontario Regional Councils Archives which consists of Canadian Shield Regional Council, Antler River Watershed Regional Council, Western Ontario Waterways Regional Council, Horseshoe Falls Regional Council, Shining Waters Regional Council, East Central Ontario Regional Council and parts of Eastern Ontario Outaousis Regional Council. The Archives holds the records in a variety of formats of the General Council Office and those of the Regions, Communities of Faith, former Conferences and presbyteries of the Central Ontario region.
Local records are held across the country by the United Church Archives Network. Each archival facility operates independently and has unique holdings and finding aids. Please consult the Archives Directory available on our website for searching for records outside of the General Council or Ontario Regional Councils Archives' purview.

Holdings
The United Church of Canada Archives includes the General Council Archives and the Ontario Regional Councils Archives.
Material types within our collections include textual records, photographs, audiovisual and architectural records.
Our collections include the following:
• archival records created by The United Church of Canada, including General Council records, Conference, presbytery, and pastoral charge records from all five Conferences
• archival records created by antecedent denominations, including Methodist, Presbyterian, Congregationalist, and Union entities, prior to church union in 1925
• archival records created by individuals or organizations affiliated with The United Church of Canada, including former staff, former Moderators and ministry personnel, overseas personnel, ecumenical and inter-church organizations
• library collections include monographs, serials, pamphlets, vertical files, and directories of ministers

Accessibility
The Archives is located within the Fred Victor 40 Oak building at 40 Oak Street. Upon entry, take the stairs, located to the right, one floor down or take the elevator to the basement. Our door is further to the right.
The building is wheelchair accessible.
